VOLUNTEERING

Why is volunteering so important?

PTO Today shared that "a 2012 study by researchers at North Carolina State University, Brigham Young University, and the University of California, Irvine...found that family involvement has an even bigger effect on positive academic performance than the quality of the school building."

Volunteering also enhances the sense of community within our school - developing a "we're all in this together" spirit!

Just a 2 hour commitment from every Panda parent would do amazing things for our kids and our school, so this year we are starting the 2 Hour Power Volunteer Pledge Program.

If you're wondering if 2 hours is enough to make a difference, trust us, it is! There are some parents who have the bandwidth and interest to spend many hours volunteering, and we're beyond grateful for those that can do that! But the 2 Hour Power volunteer pledge program emphasizes that any and all help makes a huge difference for schools, and throughout the year we will have a lot of ways to pitch in for short spurts.

As you'll see on the interest survey, we're happy to help you get involved in any way that works for your schedule and interests.

What would you like to do? When would you like to do it?

We will gladly work with you to find a way that you can help - involvement is for everyone.

We value your two hours, and we promise that there's no obligation beyond this commitment. If you'd like to do more, that's wonderful! But it won't be expected of you.

Participating in our 2 Hour Power volunteer pledge program is easy. Once you fill out the pledge form and interest survey, you can return them to school with your child or email us directly at pbopta@gmail.com. We will then be in touch with opportunities that fit your interests and availability.

Together, we can make a huge difference at our school! As always, please feel free to email if you have any questions or concerns.
